Logistics and Mission Integration Manager - Space Suits

What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

SUMMARY: Th Logistics and Mission Integration Manager position will be primarily focused on building, developing, and managing our Logistics and Mission Integration strategy, tools, processes and organization for the Axiom space suit team.  This role will also encompass all phases of the space suit development process from concept to design/development to operations, sustaining and disposal.

• Build, develop, and manage Axiom’s Logistics and Mission Integration Operations support team in support of the xEVAS Space Suit program for all phases of the logistical lifecycle including hardware maintenance planning, ground operations, mission and cargo integration and on-orbit support.

• Ensure integrated alignment with adjacent organizations and subsystem teams for logistics planning, integration, operations. and maintenance activities.

• Oversee all aspects of logistics and mission integration life cycle for Axiom’s Space Suit program including flight hardware manifest coordination and planning, flight and training event planning, inventory management, work authorization document generation and management, hardware allocation planning, spares tracking & management, ground and on-orbit maintenance planning, flight hardware and pre shipment reviews, etc.

• Lead Axiom xEVAS Logistics and Mission Integration team ensuring hardware is available, maintained, processed to requirements, and delivered to support all on-orbit and ground activities.

• Oversee Axiom Space Suit’s hardware planning and integration operations including flight planning efforts, hardware allocation tasks, timely execution of pre and post-flight processing, and delivery/integration of flight hardware manifested for on-orbit activities.

• Lead Axiom Space Suit’s inventory management and planning process, ensuring sufficient inventory quantities are available, preventatively mitigating shortage issues and risks, initiating the acquisition process, etc.

• Effectively lead the team to develop supportability plans and work authorizing documents (Task Preparation Sheets) to execute ground logistical requests required to support projects, events, hardware movements, maintenance, and hardware processing activities.  

• Develop and manage Axiom Suits Logistics and Mission Integration processes and practices to ensure alignment and supportability with the Integrated Master Schedule, flight manifest needs, associated crew training objectives and hardware testing requirements. 

• Collaborate with program office, adjacent leadership teams, and customers for logistics planning, scheduling, and execution

• Establish measurements of effectiveness for evaluating various solutions & measuring performance improvement or degradation due to changes in processes or other factors.

• Perform other logistics and program related tasks as necessary.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (with preference in engineering or related discipline) or relevant years of experience

• 10-15 year of direct experience in spaceflight logistics, including strategy development, planning, and execution.

• A broad background in space systems logistics operations and support

• Experience with development and execution of logistics tools is desirable.

• Effective in working in a start-up environment with the ability to lead, drive, and implement tactical change.

• A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of the complex and ambitious projects that we take on.

• Demonstrated leadership and extensive collaboration skills are a must.

• Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences.

• Effective in small teamwork environment with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.


• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

 Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
