Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Mechanical Engineer familiar with developing, integrating, and documenting structural and payload interface hardware designs for both internal and external payload systems on human spaceflight modules.

·         Knowledge of current designs and future trends in human-tended payload systems for commercial and government customers in the space industry.

·         Capable of collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines related to spacecraft design to include structural engineering, life support, crew systems, and avionics.

·         Able to perform detailed calculations to determine the structural integrity of mechanical joints such as welds and fasteners.

·         Familiar with and can assist in the development of fracture control assessment, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and fatigue-life analysis of flight hardware.

Education & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering required, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace preferred.

·         0 - 5 years of experience. Related internships included as experience
