Propulsion Engineer

Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Propulsion Engineer who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? Summary: This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas and will be responsible for designing, building, and testing spacecraft propulsion systems for the spacecraft.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works, understands and supports the definition of requirements for spacecraft propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.

• Drives, understands and supports definition, coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.

• Produces, understands, and supports the development of specifications and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

• Plans, coordinates and develops test requirements and evaluates test results to ensure compliance.

• Supports the use of various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.

• Supports the definition and performance of flight certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics required and 5 years of working experience.

• Highly desire experience in spacecraft propulsion system design, analysis principles, tools, and processes.

•  3D modeling software knowledge, such as SolidWorks is preferred.

• Analysis software knowledge, such as ANSYS, Easy5, Fluent, GFSSP, NASTRAN, ROCCID, ROCETS, TDK preferred.


• Exraordinarily organized, able to prioritize and follow through on all work.
